Please Read and Understand
Our on-mountain guides have extensive knowledge in the backcountry.
Our guides are not here to teach the client how to ski in
the backcountry. We know there is plenty of safe in-bounds terrain
to keep any daredevil satisfied. We have experience in the
backcountry of both Chile and Argentina, and can advise those
wishing to venture outside the boundaries on where to go,
but this does not mean we will necessarily ski with you. You must
take responsibility for your actions. The backcountry terrain
can be very deceiving.
We are here to make sure you get to and from the ski resorts.
We prefer to let the client have a day on their own while
enjoying the slopes, but are happy to point out and ski many
enjoyable stashes while on the hill. It is up to the client.
Our guides are always available via radio in case there is
an issue on the slopes.
Weather in the Andes is incredibly dynamic. Sometimes, overnight
snowfall can be over 3 feet. We advise our guests to bring
proper gear that stands up to the elements. Most ski slopes
in Chile and Argentina are treeless causing decreased depth
perception especially in stormy conditions. We encourage
our guests be prepared for any type of weather conditions
as they can change rapidly. Good flat light goggles (light
yellow/light rose colored lens) are helpful.
Snovango Ski Tours is not liable for down days due to weather
conditions. We always provide alternative activities and
are powder hounds just like you, but we do not have the ability
to control the weather. We have excellent contacts throughout
Chile and Argentina to help guide our powder magnets. We
are always working to get our clients to the best skiing
available.
